2018 Hudson Polar Plunge!

The City of Hudson Fire Department and Hudson Youth Department are excited to announce our first annual “Hudson Polar Plunge”!

The polar plunge is a fundraiser to benefit the Youth Department as well as the Fire Department Water Rescue Team. Participants raise monetary donations to take a cold plunge into the ice covered waters of Oakdale Lake. The event is to take place on Saturday February 24th, 2018 at Oakdale Lake in Hudson. The event starts at 11am.

Start your registration by clicking the “Register” button on the upper right hand side of your screen!

Do you want to join us February 24th?

On the upper right hand side of the screen you will see a blue button that says “Register“.  Click the button to start your registration process. You can register individually or as a team. Gather your co workers/ friends / family together or even promote your business!

Ok I clicked it, what’s FirstGiving?

After you click the “Register” button a screen will open to the FirstGiving registration screen. All registrations are handled through the FirstGiving website. After creating your profile you can link your FirstGiving page to your Facebook page! FirstGiving allows us to safely and securely handle all monetary donations as well as accurately track who donates what!

How much does it cost to register?

All participants are asked to make a 25$ donation to take the plunge.

We are also encouraging teams to join us!

A team of 5 can plunge for only a 100$ donation!

Also, by using FirstGiving, you can ask all of your friends and family to sponsor you and donate to your page! You could potentially plunge for free!

Can I donate more than 25$?

Of course! Everyone is encouraged to share their FirstGiving pages and ask for sponsorships! That’s why we encourage you to link your FirstGiving website to your Facebook page. There will be special prizes for the individuals and teams who raise the most money!

What do I get with my registration?

All participants who donate 25$ or more (and teams of 5 who donate 100$or more) get to jump into the freezing cold waters of Oakdale Lake to support a great cause!

Also, all participants get a souvenir 2018 Hudson Polar Plunge beanie cap!

Also, all participants/teams will have their name announced as they plunge into the water, and be included on our website/media releases!

Also, all participants are invited to our after party at the Hudson Elks Club on Harry Howard Avenue.  There will be food and beverages for sale! Adults 21 and over can join us for a cocktail to help raise our body temperatures  back to normal!
